Six Interrelated Gateways
Gateway One: Quality Learning and Teaching
To improve pupil achievement and experience by developing and implementing the Revised Curriculum/Teaching and Learning Policy as fully as possible.
Gateway Two: Quality Staff Development
To provide high quality, ongoing, professional development for teaching and non-teaching staff, which meets whole school and individual needs leading to whole school improvement.
Gateway Three: A Quality Curriculum
That the curriculum offered ensures that our pupils attain their fullest potentials, and also provided a rich variety of life experiences.
Gateway Four: Quality Pastoral Provision
To educate pupils in a safe environment and support them through effective relationships, promoting a strong sense of community and caring.
Gateway Five: Developing Community
To develop existing links and establish new links with the local community and with key partners.
Gateway Six: Quality Building And Resources
To ensure efficient, effective and economic use of all resources is reflected in all decision making.
Gateway One: Quality Learning and Teaching
- To implement the Revised Curriculum.
- To integrate eLearning into Learning and Teaching.
- We strive to develop the potential and uniqueness of every pupil through high quality learning and teaching.
- To work for and develop self discipline, self control, self motivation, self confidence and emotional stability in all pupils.
Gateway Two: Quality Staff Development
- To implement an effective PRSD programme.
- To support staff in the implementation of the Revised Curriculum.
- To promote the role of middle managers in whole school improvement (post holders).
- To facilate appropriate staff development.
- To support staff in further developing the schools proactive approach to eLearning and European Awareness.
- To promote the senior leadership roles as strategic (SMT).
- To engage in a robust self evaluation process.
Gateway Three: A Quality Curriculum
- To implement the Revised Curriculum.
- To ensure the implementation of the Entitlement Framework by engaging in school to school collaboration.
- To provide a high quality learning experience that also recognises and develops the talents of all pupils.
- To be an active member of the Craigavon Area Learning community.
- To provide a broad and balanced curriculum whilst at the same time recognising the different methodologies that may be used to deliver such a curriculum.
Gateway Four: Quality Pastoral Provision
- To implement a high quality pastoral programme with emphasis on development of emotional intelligence.
- To engage in ongoing review of whole school policies.
- To enhance the level of pupil support.
- To be a health promoting school.
- To recognise the importance of relationships with home.
- To improve attendance rates across the school.
- To ensure that children are safe in school and on off site activities.
Gateway Five: Developing Community
- To further develop Nursery, Primary, Post Primary School links.
- To further develop links with our support agencies.
- To create a community where everyone is supported and encouraged to be their best.
- To promote a culture of tolerance that recognises, welcomes and accepts cultural differences.
- To share our success.
Gateway Six: Quality Building And Resources
- To develop the school in a local and national context.
- To provide a dynamic and effective financial strategy for the school.
- To ensure efficient, effective and economical use of resources.
- To ensure that value for money is obtained in all decision making.
- To apply best practice and the highest standards of financial management to optimise best value.
- To ensure that the school premises are maintained in conditions conducive to learning and to the development of pride in the school’s physical environment.
